Lorian Bartle

Lorian Bartle is a classically-trained guitarist and vocalist who performs in diverse community settings throughout the Denver area.  Her eclectic repertoire encompasses classical, traditional, and popular favorites.  She has performed for many special events and occasions, including weddings, cocktail hours, senior living community gatherings, and holiday parties.  Recent highlights include featured performances at the Applewood Business Association’s Tuxes & Tees event, Foothills Art Center member openings, Taste of Golden, and the City of Wheat Ridge Performance Artist Series.

Lorian Bartle teaches guitar in classical, traditional, and contemporary styles as well as keyboard theory and music theory in Wheat Ridge.  Her students perform regularly in Foothills Music Teacher Association recitals and community events.  She has been teaching since 1998, both in the classroom and as a private guitar instructor.  Lorian Bartle has taught ear training courses at Florida State University and elementary music in the Denver area.  She founded a strings program at a Denver-area charter school which grew to encompass 55 students.

Originally from upstate New York, Lorian Bartle began studying violin at seven years old, switching to classical guitar studies with Edwin Vollmer at age fifteen.  Lorian Bartle received a Bachelor of Arts degree in music cum laude from Vassar College, studying classical guitar with Terry Champlin.  She earned a Master of Music degree in music theory at Florida State University where she wrote her thesis on a set of art songs composed by twentieth-century Austrian composer Anton Webern.  In recent years, Lorian Bartle received extensive post-graduate private guitar instruction from Ricardo Iznaola and private voice training with Katrina Twitty and Kevin Kennedy.
